Ardennes - Belgium

When I was a child, my grandparents had a cottage in the Ardennes (South of Belgium) nearby a very small village: Bure. I spent many wonderfull holidays over there.
In 1993, after my grandfather died, the place was sold. These are the last memory-pictures I took there at that time.

A (sad) story about a "baby-duck"
|
|
Last Saturday my wife found a little baby-duck, which was left behind by the mother-duck.
Trying to be good, she took it with her in the garden, gave it some food and water. Also our two dogs liked their new friend. The female Aislinn even tried to be a duck-dog-mother, but it was so hard to take care of such a little baby.
It gave me some nice pictures, but the next morning our baby-duck died anyway. We didn't manage to keep it warm, even though we took it inside the house.
OK, we feel sorry about this, but we tried.
