Folk dance with children (1)
|
|
Today, I took for the first time pictures of children in a rehearsel of folk dance. They had to get used to my camera. The results are quite OK, for the Black and White pictures you'll have to wait a little bit.
In two weeks, I'll take pictures again from these two groups: children between 5 and 9, the second group is between 9 and 15. I'm also curious about the results, we'll have then.
I won't be a stranger anymore, that's for sure.
And I must say that Carina is doing a great job: learning these children the classic folk dance.
Enjoy it and please, give your comments...
Tomorrow, I'll show you more!

A "Bolleke" from Antwerp
|
|
In Antwerp, they make (and drink) a typical beer which is named "De Coninck". But when you want to order this beer, you just say "een bolleke" and you'll get what you want!
Cheers

More special effects from the darkroom
|
|
Well,
Ronald was right: I printed my B/W-pictures in the darkroom, then I coloured them using chemical toners (containing copper and sulphite). This gives the red and blue colours. The fine thing about it, is that you'll never be sure of the result. It depends on a lot of things: the contrast and brightness of your pictures, the paper you used ...
And when you don't like the result, there is only one way to correct it: throw the picture in the dustbin and start all over again. So it is clear that all the Photoshoppers are really spoiled...
Today, some sepia pictures. Also this is quite simple: you print the B/W-pictures, than you bleach them with a chemical and put them in a sepia toner...
The result: old fashioned pictures full of nostalgy

Yesterday,
I've put some pictures of VW-Beetles on my pages.
Some where excited, because of the car (a '71 Beetle, which I restored together with a friend in Finland), but most of you wondered how I made the effects with the blue and red.
Well, I can already tell you that it are all classic Black and White pictures (nothing digital or Photoshop or whatever...)
To know the answer for the real secret, how I made these pictures, you'll have to be patient. I'll tell it in some days...

Playing in the dark-room
|
|
Last winter-time I was playing with old negatives and chemicals in my dark-room. It is totally different from Photoshop, because you're never sure what the results will be like.
I know it is not perfect, but it was fun and worth to show it, because nobody expects this kind of pictures from me!

Ghent (Belgium)
|
|
Actually, I had no inspiration for a picture for today. But a visit at Herman's fotopage gave me the idea to search in my archive for a picture of my birthtown Gent. This was taken in 1995, long time before I got the advice how to take good pictures from Ronald.
But anyway, I think it is not too bad at all.
